A campsite is a field or several fields where people stay overnight in a tent or in some other form of mobile accomodation. The emphasis is on outdoor living. Trailer tents and folding campers also form a small band of campers.who enjoy the airiness of canvas but prefer not to sleep too close to the ground.

The advent of integrated showers and toilets in both caravans and motorcaravans has meant that many campsites have ceased to accommodate tents and have become caravan parks or motorhome parks with more sophisticated serviced pitches.

Holiday Parks are quite often a combination of all of these mobile units, collectively known as recreational vehicles plus static caravans that are for hire or for sale. Static caravans are also known as holiday homes and are normally constructed with aluminium clad panels with a pitched roof. Many of these Holiday Parks have become leisure centres in their own right with nightly entertainment, bars, restaurants and shops. In the last few years Holiday Lodges have come to enhance the upper end of the static caravan market. Holiday Lodges are normally constructed of natural wood and many are built in 2 sections to allow delivery to difficult locations.
